For Izilwane, an honours short film produced at AFDA, I served as Director of Photography, shaping a raw, immersive visual language to mirror the story's gritty tone.
The cinematography relies heavily on deliberate handheld camera movement, placing the audience directly inside the characters' emotional space rather than observing from a safe distance. Shot selection, framing, and movement were kept intimate and observational, avoiding overly polished aesthetics to maintain an unfiltered, immediate connection to the narrative.
The film earned Best Cinematography and Best Film at the AFDA Honours awards.
